ENGR. PROF. A. ALOS

Engr. Prof. Albert Alos was born in Barcelona, Spain on the 17th September, 1939.  Prof. Alos attended Ingeniero Industrial (Electrical) School of Engineering, Bilbao, Spain in 1968. He also earned Dr. Eng. (Industrial Engineering), School of Engineering, Bilbao, Spain, 1970.


Prof. Alos started his career as the first lecturer in the newly established Department of Electronic & Electrical Engineering at the University of Ife, 1967-71. In 1971, he joined the University of Lagos as a Lecturer in Department of Electrical Engineering where he rose through the ranks and was promoted.

Professor of Electrical Engineering in 1985. He also worked at the University of Ibadan in 1985 as the Head of Department, Electrical Engineering , Faculty of Technology; Visiting Associate Professor, Department of Electrical Engineering, University of Waterloo, Canada, 1981; Visiting Professor, Department of Computer Sciences, University of Rome, Italy; and Visiting Professor, Centre for Industrial Research, University of Navarre, San Sebastian, Spain in 1990. He was appointed Director General, Lagos Business School in 1993-2002; Dean, Lagos Business School, 2002 and Vice-Chancellor Pan-African University in 2004-2009.

Prof. Alos  held several teaching/research position across the globe and his major contributions are in Control Engineering, Operations Management, Operation Strategy, Business Policy ,Business Strategy, Innovation, Total Quality Management, and Image communication. His most recent research is the study of the entrepreneurial process in the Nigerian environments and Survey of the Application software industry in Nigeria.   

Prof. Alos is a Certified Lead Auditor British Standard Institute and COREN Registered Engineer.
