Born on 13th June, 1951 in Dublin Island. Prof. Adetokunbo Omokayode Denloye had his secondary education at Igbobi College, Yaba in 1966. He proceeded to the International School, Ibadan for his A level studies between 1967 and 1968. Thereafter, he enrolled at the University of Lagos to study Mechanical Engineering. He however secured a Western Region of Nigeria Scholarship to study Chemical Engineering and moved to the University of Birmingham in England where he graduated with First Class division in Chemical Engineering in 1972 and Ph.D. degree in Chemical Engineering in 1976 specializing in fluidization.
He started his teaching career with Obafemi Awolowo University in 1976 and 1977, a year later joined the teaching staff of the University of Lagos as Lecturer II. He rose through the ranks and was appointed a Professor in Chemical Engineering in 1988. In 1996, he was appointed as the pioneer Head of Department of Chemical Engineering and Polymer engineering at the Lagos State University where he was responsible for curriculum development. Between 1992 and 1993, he was a visiting Professor at the University of Maryland, College Park, USA, and visiting Professor in the Department of Petroleum Engineering, Convenant University, Ota, Ogun State in 2010 and 2011.
Between 2001 and 2008. Prof. Denloye has research successfully in large particle gas fluidization, fluidized bed combustion of Coal and carbonaceous materials, drying charasteristics of local food grians, hydrogenation of Nigerian sub-bituminous coal, dynamic modeling of distillation columns and leak dection in pipelines systems. He was the Managing Director of Unilag Consult. This provided him an extensive experience in project management, project engineering and engineering assessment. He has written many books and published journal.
Prof. Denloye is a COREN Registered Engineer, Member, American Institute of Chemical Engineers, Institution of Chemical Engineers, UK, Fellow, Nigerian Society of Chemical Engineers and Nigerian Society of Engineers.
