Professor Buba Garegy Bajoga was born in February 11, 1944. He attended Government Colleges at Kaduna and Okene before proceeding to Ahmadu Bello University where he obtained B.Sc. in Electrical Engineering in 1968. Thereafter, he took a Ph. D. in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the State University of New York in 1972.
Prof. Banjoga returned to Ahmadu Bello University where he rose through the ranks and was appointed Professor in 1984. Following the merger of Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University with Ahmadu Bello, he was appointed provost of the College, which he nursed back into the status of an autonomous University. He served as two-term Vice-Chancellor covering the period 1984-1994 during which, he also served as Chairman of Committee of Vice-Chancellors.
At various times, he was a member of Board of Directors of NITEL (1985); member, the Technical Sub-Committee on NITEL (1988) and member of Board of Directors of Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) (1993). Prof. Bajoga has served on the Council of COREN as well as on several Committees of NSE. He is currently the Managing Director of NITEL, and a Foundation Fellow of the Academy.
