Engr. Prof. John Ade Ajayi who hails from Ilesa in Osun State, holds a Diploma in Mining of the then Federal School of Mines, Jos. He attended the then the University of Ife, University of Lagos, and Ahmadu Bello University where he obtained B.Sc. Metallurgical and Materials Engineering, M.Sc. Mechanical Engineering and Ph.D. Metallurgical Engineering respectively. He is COREN registered and a three- fold Engineer. He is a Fellow of the Nigerian Society of Engineers and former President of the Nigerian Metallurgical Society.

He is a Professor of Metallurgical and Mineral Engineering in the Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering (MME), Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA). He is presently a Visiting Professor in the MME Department, University of Lagos. He is the Principal researcher for Gold and Precious Metals Research and Development Teams of FUTA and UNILAG respectively.

This well-travelled scholar cum professional has traversed the six geo-political zones of Nigeria, Africa, and five Continents of the world. He has received many awards, prizes and honors for academic, professional and leadership achievements.

He is married to beautiful and brilliant Dr. Mrs Deborah Olayide Ade Ajayi, an Associate Professor of Mathematics and they are blessed with three favoured children: IseunifeOluwa, IyanulOluwa and IyinOluwa.
