Prof. Bolaji Abdulfatai Sule was born on January 7, 1954, in Nguru, Yobe State, Nigeria. He studied at the University of Benin, Benin City, where he obtained a first-class honors degree in Civil Engineering in 1978. Between 1980 and 1984, he was at Cornell University, Ithaca, NY, USA where he obtained MS and Ph. D in Civil and Environmental Engineering with a specialization in Water Resources Systems Optimization and Management. He was appointed a professor in 1994.
He has published over 100 articles in peer-reviewed journals and learned conferences. He is the recipient of 2010/2011 University of Ilorin Researcher of the year award. He was at various times, Head of Civil Engineering, Dean of Faculty of Engineering and Technology, and the pioneer Director, National Centre for Hydropower Research and Development, He is currently the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Management Services), University of Ilorin, Ilorin.
Prof. Sule is a COREN registered engineer, a Fellow of the Nigerian Society of Engineers, a Fellow of the Nigerian Institution of Civil Engineers, and a Fellow of the Solar Energy Society of Nigeria. He is a keen golfer and was the Captain of Ilorin Golf Club in 2007. He is happily married with three daughters.
SPECIALIZATIONS
