Engr. Dr. Ismaila Mohammed Amodu was born on 12th December 1965, Ankpa, Kogi State, is a career certified Civil Engineer and an alumnus of the famous Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) Zaria. He graduated with B.sc in 1987, M.sc 1998, PGD 2006 and PhD in 2017. In the course of his career spanning over three decades, he has attended numerous Professional Development (CPD) programmes at notable institutions across the globe on Highways Design and Construction, Capital Projects Financing, Computer Aided Design (CAD), Public Private Partnership, Contract Administration etc. He is professionally equipped with broad knowledge, vast technical experience and managerial capabilities garnered from the various projects he has embarked upon as well as his educational background. In 1989, he joined the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA), Abuja as Engineer II on the supervision team of Asokoro infrastructure. He later moved to Julius Berger Nig. (JBN) Plc in 1990 as a Civil Engineer and rose through various ranks to his current position as Project Coordinator (Northern Region) and Management Staff of the company. He is responsible for managing a vast team of over 500 engineers and technical professionals across a portfolio of major projects. Some of the projects include: Expansion of Airport Road, Abuja Completion of Roads B6, B12 and Circle in Abuja Rehabilitation and expansion of the Abuja Airport Expressway from the City gate to Bill Clinton’s junction - Lot 1 & 2 in Abuja Expansion of Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja Redesign and Construction of the Atrium Louvres of Central Bank of Nigeria Headquarters, Abuja to protect the building against driving-in rains. Design and Construction of Petroleum Technology Development Fund Building, Abuja Design and Construction of the Drainage System of Port Harcourt Military Airport Designed and coordinated the Emergency Rehabilitation and Repairs of the Runway at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja Design and Construction of the international Conference Centre, Abuja Design and Construction of Abuja Stadium – Main bowl and the Velodrome Design and Construction of FOCI Academy along ONEX Abuja Through his office, Engr. Dr. Ismaila has facilitated the sponsorship of various Engineering programmes by JBN such as NSE and COREN conferences and workshops; equipemt of Civil Engineering laboratories of Ahmadu Bello University Zaria amongts others. led a delegation of several Engineers of Federal Ministry of Works to Germany on fully sponsored trainings by Julius Berger. He also ensures that all JBN Engineers are duly registered and licensed by COREN. He has also contributed to the engineering profession by mentoring emerging engineers, delivering hands-on training, and sharing expertise through various technical publications and presentations. Engr. Dr. Ismaila Mohammed Amodu is a recipient of several meritorious awards for his professional excellence.
