Engr. Eric Onyeiwu is a Registered Civil/Structural Engineer and an experienced Project Management Consultant. He attended the Birch Freeman High School, Surulere, Lagos and the Federal School of Science, Victoria Island, Lagos for his secondary education. He obtained a Bachelor of Engineering Degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka in 1980. He also holds a Masters Degree (MSc) in Civil Engineering (1986) and a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) 1994, both from the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. He is currently undertaking a PhD programme in Engineering Management from the University of Port Harcourt. Professionally, Engr. Onyeiwu is registered with the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN). He is also a Fellow of several notable professional associations such as the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), the Nigerian Institution of Civil Engineers (NICE), the Nigerian Institution of Structural Engineers (NIStruct E), the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), the Chartered Institute of Project Managers, Nigeria (CIPMN), and the Institution of Management Consultants (IMC). Engr. Onyeiwu has excellent analytical, presentation and communication skills and is an experienced team leader with ability to deliver on projects with tight timelines. Engr. Onyeiwu started his practice career in 1980 with the Enplan Group, Kaduna. He thereafter worked as a Structural Designer/Detailer for Services Engineering Ltd, Kaduna from 1981 to 1985. From 1985 to 1989, he was in the services of the Kaduna Polytechnic as a Lecturer in the Department of Civil Engineering. He left the Kaduna Polytechnic in 1989 to join the associated office of Archcon Nigeria in association of Norman & Dawbarn, UK as Head of Civil/Structural Engineering Department. He remained at Archcon, Norman & Dawbarn until 1993, when he resigned to set up ECO Project Services Ltd. He is currently the Managing Director/CEO of ECO Project Services Ltd. In his over 40 years of professional practice experiences, Engr. Onyeiwu has had unique industry experiences. He has managed notable national projects such as the Project Management Consultancy Services for the $1bn Hydrocarbon Pollution Remediation Project (2018 – 2020), the National Management Consultancy Services for the MDGs Quickwin Projects (2008 – 2011), the National Railway Development Project (2012 – 2015) under the SURE-P Program and the Federal Rural Water Supply Project (2004 – 2007). Engr. Onyeiwu was at various times, Special Adviser to the Honorable Minister of Transport (2009 – 2010), Chairman, Nigerian Society of Engineers, Kaduna Branch (1995 – 1997), Chairman, National Engineering Centre – Phase 2 Completion Project (2017 – 2023) and Member, Senate and House of Representatives technical committees on Railway Development. Engr. Onyeiwu is a Result-oriented professional, that can be trusted with complex development projects. As a Community man, Engr. Onyeiwu has rendered services to both his home community and his residential community. He has held many community leadership positions. He was responsible for attracting the construction of many projects to his home community in Oboh-Osuama, Isiala Mbano of Imo State. Engr. Onyeiwu has been severally honored by his community and was recently inducted to the Isiala-Oboh Hall of Fame.
