Engr. Barry Esimone was born on 4^th February 1959 in Anambra State. He obtained his B.Eng (Hons) degree in Civil Engineering from University of Ilorin in 1984, M.Eng, Civil Engineering from University of Benin in 1988.  Engr. Esiomne is the Founder and Group President of Crusteam Group Limited and has built a diversified conglomerate with significant interests in upstream and downstream oil and gas (Crusteam Nigeria Ltd), energy and power infrastructure (Crusteam Energy and Power), and real estate development (Crusteam Properties). His visionary leadership has created employment opportunities, fostered technology transfer, and promoted indigenous participation in critical sectors of the Nigerian economy.

One of his landmark achievements was organizing and leading a high-level Nigerian oil and gas industry delegation—including representatives from Shell, Elf, Agip, and NAPIMS—to Russia for the certification of OCTG (Oil Country Tubular Goods) and linepipe products from TMK Mills. This initiative introduced cost-effective, high-quality alternatives for pipeline infrastructure in Nigeria, reducing reliance on expensive imports and enhancing local content development in line with the Nigerian Oil and Gas Industry Content Development Act. Throughout his career, Engr. Esimone has championed geotechnical engineering with the best practices, project management excellence, and infrastructure development. He has been actively involved in major projects spanning tank farms, real estate, and energy infrastructure. His thought leadership is evident in his participation in high-level conferences, policy discussions on petrol subsidy regimes, Nigerian Content implementation, and the application of artificial intelligence and machine learning in geotechnical engineering. He has mentored numerous young engineers and contributed to professional bodies through knowledge sharing and capacity building.

Beyond technical practice, Engr. Esimone demonstrates a deep commitment to corporate governance, ethical business practices, and national economic advancement. As a director in companies such as Homes and Homes Real Estate Solution, he continues to drive innovation in construction and property development. His efforts align perfectly with the Academy’s mission to promote engineering solutions for Nigeria’s sustainable development challenges, particularly in energy security, infrastructure resilience, and human capital development.  He has contributed immensely to engineering practice, leadership in the energy sector, and unwavering commitment to national development through indigenous capacity building.

Engr. Barry Esimone is a COREN Registered Engineer, Fellow of the Nigerian Society of Engineers. Member of other local and international professional bodies, he exemplifies the highest standards of professional excellence, innovation, and ethical leadership in engineering.

He is happily married with children.
