Engr. Dr. Olusegun Ajayi was born in Osogbo on the 28th August, 1940. He had his secondary school education at the CMS Grammar School, Lagos, and his higher School education at the Abeokuta Grammar School, Abeokuta, Ogun State.

Following a one-year apprenticeship at the Associated Electrical Industries, AEI, Woolwich in London he undertook a three-year undergraduate course at the University of London King’s College. Having completed the two years practical experience he returned to the University of London Kings College for doctoral research. This was completed in 1968 with the award of the University of London Ph. D. in Electrical Engineering.

In 1968 he took up a teaching appointment at the Faculty of Engineering University of Lagos and retired in 1987 as Associate Professor. He is at present a Partner in the Engineering Consulting Firm of Finco Engineers.

Dr. Ajayi has been active in professional engineering societies in the United Kingdom and Nigeria. He is a fellow of the Nigerian Society of Engineers and served as its elected Assistant Technical Secretary and Technical Secretary for seven years. He later became the President of the Nigerian Society of Engineers in 1995. As one of the Past Presidents he has since been a member of the Nigerian Society of Engineers Executive Council.

Dr. Ajayi is the charter Secretary of Rotary Club of Akoka. In 1992 he was elected President Rotary Club of Akoka.ENGR. DR. O. AJAYI.
