Born on the 26^th of December 1948 at Sabongida – Ora in Owan west local government of Edo State. Engr. Joseph Arumeni–Ikhide. Government College Ughelli, Delta State in 1963 and 1969, before proceeding to Ahmadu Bello University Zaria where he obtained his B.Eng – Mechanical Engineering in 1973.

He held the position of Field Maintenance Engineer with the Nigerian Agip Oil Company 1974-1975, Senior Commissioning Engineer, Solar Turbines International Company, USA and Germany 1975 -1984 and he commissioned 2x2.5MW Solar Gas Turbines at Shell Brent ‘D’ Platform, UK, 4X2.5MW Solar Turbo generator sets for Elf Gabon at Grondin Platform, Gabon, Central Africa; Turbo Natural Gas Compressor sets in France for Gaz De France; 3x5.0MW Turbo Generator sets and pumps at Refinery in Cape Lopez, Habon Central Africa; Project Manager with the responsibility of Sea Water Injection Scheme for Chevron Nigeria, Delta State Platform, installation and commissioning of 6X2.5MW Turbo Pumps and 2x8.8MW Central Power Plant SPDC East, Port-Harcourt.

He was on the Federal Government Technical Delegation to Angola in 1970 after the Angolan civil war for the rehabilitation and recommissioning of their power systems. He has also been a Project Manager for the installation of a 250MW combined gas turbine for Cambodia, Angola and the installation of solar turbines for Shell North Sea at Schiedam, Holland. Installation and commissioning of Solar Turbo pumps Chevron’s Seawater injection schemes of Meren and Delta South platforms, and 2x 8.8MW Control Power plant for Shell Petroleum Development Company (SPDC) in East Bonny from 1985 to June 1999. He was Executive Director, Projects for Negris Limited during which period he was involved with the Nigerian Petroleum Refining Company, Port-Harcourt 2x8MW power station. In 1999, he set up Rockson Engineering Company Limited and in 2005 had a work force of 20 expatriates. 125 Nigerian engineers and about 200 technicians and other support staff with assets worth over $10 million.

Engr. Arumeni has over the past few years been actively redefining the air transportation standards in Nigeria with his “tear rubber” aircrafts that dominate the air space in Nigeria. He received the National Agricultural Merit Award of National Farmers Institute in 1995, Distinguished Service Award of Nigerian Society of Engineers 2001, and Patron and Award of Honour, Nigeria Society of Chemical Engineers Foundation 2001. He is a Members, American Management Association, National Farmers Institute and a Fellow, Nigerian Society of Engineers and Nigerian Academy of Engineering.
